The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas

The story narrates around a boy called Bruno, who is a keen “adventurer” and never stops exploring his big house. The führer(Hitler) whom Bruno mispronounces as the “Fury”, sends his father and his family off to the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp which he mispronounces as “Out-with camp”, where his father is serving as Commandant(the head of the camp).Bruno feels lonely in the comparatively smaller house(3 storeys!i mean how spoilt is he?) until he discovers a ”camp” or rows of house nearby. He is curious about the people who “live” in there and why they all wear striped pyjamas. His sister too is dumbfounded by this place, but merely says its the countryside, while his parents seem to know something but don’t ever tell their children, and leaves no choice but for Bruno to go back to exploring and clearly defying his parents by leaving the house and walking along the fence that separates the ”vile and filthy creatures” from the “Gentiles”(obviously what his father said).

Avid readers who don’t get easily traumatised by main character‘s deaths(spoiler alert!) and people who have nothing to do and a few spare hours, we call out to YOU to come down and read this book NOW! (Seeya)
