What would you do if you found a skeleton in your attic? Well that’s what twelve year old Dana Shannon is faced with when she finds a skeleton and with it, the curtain which has hidden the mystery is opened.

Wih the help of the diary she found in the attic, she learns the skeleton belongs to a young woman, Lizbet Charles, who worked as a conductor on the Underground Railroad.

Although all the clues are laid together, the questions still remain : why and how did Lizbet Charles die?
